Black Friday
This was my black Friday. We opened up the very back of the store, which is a hallway in the mall, and were working back there with shipment and getting shoes ready to go out later on in the day. The guy in the pictures above is actually one of my managers, Zack, he was in the back with us helping for a little bit. The shirt that he is wearing was actually required of us to wear in honor of black Friday. As you can tell from the pictures we really had a lot of fun, regardless of it being the day that it was.

Blog 11: EQ
1. Review this. Confirm by stating "I reviewed the rule of three for writing an EQ."
Essential Question
Once a topic is chosen, the student will develop a working essential question. The purpose of the working essential question is to help the student build a strong foundation of research which will allow him or her to create an essential question that encourages depth and rigor in the chosen topic. An essential question must:
3. Based on your review of the rule of 3 and your experience with assessing four EQs, please write another draft EQ for your senior project. The senior team will be meeting with students shortly for EQ revision and approval; you are expected to bring your research notebook to that meeting with your EQ draft written inside in pencil.

Happy Halloween!!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! So in honor of Halloween being on Friday I found this video of Vans employees having fun. For me this video shows and proves that not every work place needs to be uptight and have no fun. Showing employees that they can have a relaxed day at the work place and be yourself is one of the ways to actually have a successful business. It proves to your employees that you actually care about them and want them to enjoy the holiday as much as you do.

- Describe in detail what you plan to do for your 30 hours.
I plan on doing more mentorship with my mentor. So I plan on continuing what it is that I am doing right now, which is helping with sales and figuring out how much money should be spent when ordering more supplies.
2. Discuss how or what you will do to meet the expectation of showing 30 hours of evidence.
I plan on taking photographs of picking up shipment, and the budgeting that I help with.
3. And explain how what you will be doing will help you explore your topic in more depth.
This will help me explore my topic more simply by me shadowing and observing as well as helping here and there in this business. I'm already learning that it actually takes a lot just to manage even this small business, so many different number figures and so many meetings that my mentor is constantly in and out of. I've learned that it will take hard work and determination to really go far in this career.

1.Describe your experience in how you found your mentorship?
I haven't found a mentor yet, but in my search for one I have actually called and submitted emails to corpate companies such as Vans, O'neil, Quciksilver, Nike, Hurley, Starbucks, Steve Madden, BCBG. I've been able to set up a couple of interviews with Vans, Nike, and O'neil, but those aren't till a couple of weeks. I'm hoping that I can get one of those.
2. What has been the most important article you have read and why?
The most important article that I have actually read is titled "Peers Influence Decision to Become an Entrepreneur". I found it very helpful because it explains how most Entrepreneur get to where they are. It actually states that most have worked with one before they decided to become one themselves.

3. List of Questions raised because of 10 hour experience:
- Does someone generally stay in one company or often leave?
- What school would be best for this field of work?
- Do I want to actually do this later on in life?
- Do I need to know how to draw perfectly for this?
- Does every fashion design company out there have similar work ethics or entirely different ones?
Interceptive
1. The Most Important thing gained from this experience:
That in the fashion world people come and go. If they feel that they have grown all that they can in one company they move to another to grow more.
Applied
1. Senior Topic:
Interior Design: Hospitality
In doing what I did it helped me determined exactly what I wanted to do, because I realized that as much as I love fashion it isn't exactly what sparks my attention. What does that is the designing of rooms and creating them from scratch and putting everything together down to the little magazines. I found myself looking more at the walls and paint instead of the actual work in front of me. I realized that even though I was doing one thing with fabric or filing paperwork, I kept thinking of the room itself and how it could look so much more appealing and bigger this way or that way.

Blog Assignment 1
Over the course of the past two weeks I viewed 16 different senior presentations that consisted of:
- Social Work for Abused
- Teaching Elementary
- Creating a Franchise
- Suicidal Youth
- Teaching 1st Grade
- Boxing
- Beauty Salon
- Acting
- Surfing
- Engineering
- Culinary Arts
- Cancer Advocacy
- Teaching Kindergarten
- Marriage & Family Therapy
- Party Planning
- Domestic Violence
After viewing these presentations I realized that I really don't have any questions that I need answered. Everything for me was either answered when I interviewed a senior, when I was watching the presentations, or when I had questions after the presentations that were answered by a different senior that I worked with as a TA. So at the moment I don't have any questions so far, but with that said I can almost guarantee that later on down the road questions will start to arise. But for now I have no questions about senior presentation.
For me the most important part of these presentations were actually the topics in general. I was fortunate enough to get all the topics that I wanted and because of that I made sure to pick topics that have interested me for a long time now. With that said the topic isn't always what it seems, I went to some presentations expecting what the topic said and instead came out disappointed because sure the presentation was great, but it just wasn't what I expected it to be.
The topic that I am considering doing is Interior Design but more specifically Hospitality. The reason for my choosing this is because I've always had an eye for design and it has always just been something that has appealed to me, so the fact that I now have a chance to jump at the opportunity to get a head start and get the feel for what I want to do later on in life is perfect.
For my summer mentorship I will be flying out to Chicago on July 31st and coming back August 6, and what I will be doing is mentoring with my aunt who lives over there and works in this profession. I am excited for this and can't wait to start learning more and more about this career path that I have chosen for myself.
